Sixense Celebrates National Intern Day 2024

SXNA National Intern Day 2024

National Intern Day 2024 (July 25, 2024) is a wonderful opportunity for us to express our gratitude for the two outstanding interns on our team this year.

At Sixense, we greatly value the significant contributions our interns make to both our projects and our workplace culture. It is crucial for us to foster an environment that prioritizes mentorship, hands-on training, and the development of future industry leaders.

In celebration of National Intern Day 2024, Sixense North America would like to introduce and commend two of Sixense Canada’s exceptional interns:

Rajy Hafiane – Instrumentation and Monitoring Specialist

✨ His duties include assisting in the installation of equipment like total stations, tiltmeters, or prisms and carrying out in-situ tests. He’s also involved in data management, where he processes the information collected and writes reports.
✨ At Sixense, he was able to learn in detail how the different instruments work, from installation to maintenance. He also got to work with Beyond Monitoring, which is the main tool regarding data management, allowing him to understand how the data is acquired and processed.
✨ This internship has allowed him to work alongside experienced professionals, which has been a highly rewarding experience. The wide variety of tools and methods available at Sixense made the job both interesting and challenging, providing ample opportunities for continuous learning.

Célina Boutsoki – Junior Financial Analyst

✨ Her main responsibilities cover reporting monthly KPIs, tracking budgets for our various business units, and assisting in the monthly and quarterly consolidation process by ensuring the accuracy of Sixense’s financial statements.
✨ At Sixense, her role has not only honed her analytical skills but also provided her with a deep understanding of the financial processes that drive our company’s success.
✨ One of the highlights of her internship has been working closely with C-level colleagues and learning from their experience, which has helped her adopt the best methods and processes to succeed in her role.

Sixense’s Atlantic Team Attends GEOKON Training

Sixense organized and sponsored a comprehensive four-day GEOKON training instructional course for our Atlantic team members this past September. The course was designed to cover a wide range of vibrating wire technologies, including an in-depth exploration of the underlying theory, practical installation techniques, and an overview of state-of-the-art products in the field.

During the training, participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with various geotechnical sensors. The sensors included instruments such as:

  1. In-place inclinometers
  2. Piezometers
  3. Strain gauges
  4. Water level detection devices

Our team members found that this immersive experience allowed them to deepen their understanding of the intricacies of these technologies and their application in real-world scenarios.

The training further solidified Sixense’s already well-established industry-leading knowledge and provided our employees with exclusive firsthand access to new products and insights.

Sixense Northern America takes pride in supporting American-made technology and witnessing the craftsmanship behind the instrumentation that drives the valuable data we deliver to our clients.

Employee Spotlight: Reigna Johnson

Administrative Professionals Day is the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on Sixense’s Office Manager: Reigna Johnson, MBA. 🌟

As one of our most valuable employees, she works in our Bothell office handling administrative duties for all our USA offices. She’s definitely the glue that holds our team together, and we’re very happy to feature her as this month’s Employee Spotlight.

Over the past year, she has also taken on the role of the Environmental Lead for our organization, making her responsible for tracking our current CO2 emissions and developing strategies to reduce our environmental impact for greater sustainability.
