4DBloc is a simple, highly reliable GNSS sensor that requires no calibration and virtually no maintenance—unlike many other instruments in its category. Its extremely low power consumption allows it to operate using a single solar panel installed on site, making it ideal for long‑term monitoring in remote or difficult‑to‑access locations.

All 4DBloc data is processed through a dedicated, fully automated algorithm developed to deliver accuracy within a few millimeters, depending on site conditions and satellite visibility.

Principle of Operation

Each 4DBloc sensor communicates with a gateway station via radio transmission. The gateway then automatically transfers the data in real time over the internet.

Millimetric positioning is achieved through two key components:

  • Differential positioning: each 4DBloc sensor is referenced against stable sensors within the network
  • A high‑performance calculation algorithm co‑developed with IGN

This combination ensures precise, continuous deformation tracking across a wide range of environments.
